Sample Question 1 of 3
A service manager at a fleet garage in Regina is approving a new bulk drum of synthetic automatic transmission fluid for the lube room, which sits beside the parts washer and a space heater. Before the drum is moved in, an apprentice is asked to find the product's fire data on the WHMIS 2015 Safety Data Sheet. Which section lists the flash point, autoignition temperature and flammability limits?
A) Section 8, Exposure Controls, with exposure limits and the respirator choices
B) Section 2, Hazard Identification, with the pictograms and the signal words used
C) Section 5, Fire-Fighting Measures, with the suitable extinguishing media to use
D) Section 9, Physical and Chemical Properties, with the measured values for the product
Correct answer: D

On a WHMIS 2015 (GHS) Safety Data Sheet, flash point, autoignition temperature, vapour pressure and flammability limits are listed in Section 9, Physical and Chemical Properties. Section 5 covers how to fight a fire, Section 2 the hazard classes and pictograms, and Section 8 exposure limits and PPE.

Sample Question 2 of 3
You need a replacement BCM for a car built in June 2025 with push-button start and no heated steering wheel. The parts catalogue lists: part 101, built up to March 2025, key start; part 102, built up to March 2025, push-button start; part 103, built from April 2025, key or push-button start, without heated wheel; part 104, built from April 2025, with heated wheel. Which part fits this car?
A) Part 103, because it covers cars from April 2025 without a heated steering wheel
B) Part 101, because it is the base part and fits the same connectors as the rest
C) Part 102, because it is the part the catalogue lists for a car with push-button start
D) Part 104, because it is the newest part number and replaces the earlier ones
Correct answer: A

The car was built in June 2025, so only the parts listed from April 2025 apply. It has no heated wheel, so part 103 fits. Part 102 is for cars built up to March 2025, and part 104 is for cars with a heated wheel; a newer number is not a replacement unless the catalogue says it supersedes.

Sample Question 3 of 3
A compact car with column-mounted electric power steering drifts left on a level road, and the wheel pulls left when released. Alignment and tire pressures are in spec, and swapping the front tires changes nothing. Parked with the engine running and hands off the wheel, the scan tool shows steering torque at 2.1 N·m to the left and the EPS motor giving left assist; the service information says 0 ± 0.3 N·m. What is the most likely cause?
A) Low supply voltage at the EPS module, which cuts the assist level and makes the steering feel heavier to the right
B) A steering angle sensor that is not centred, so the stability control module brakes one front wheel and steers the car left
C) An offset in the steering torque sensor, so the EPS module sees driver effort that is not there and assists to the left
D) A worn intermediate shaft joint that binds in one direction and twists the column each time the wheel is turned
Correct answer: C

With hands off, the torque sensor should read 0 ± 0.3 N·m. A 2.1 N·m reading makes the module add left assist, which steers the car left. Stability control does not brake a wheel while the car is parked, a binding joint or low voltage does not create a torque reading with hands off, and the tire swap ruled out the tires.
